General Introduction to Jiangxi Province
Jiangxi is located in the southeastern of China. Neighboring Anhui to the north, Guangdong to the south and Hunan to the west, Jiangxi Province covers an area of 1,669,000 square kilometers and the population of 40 million.Jiangxi province got its name during the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907) and because the Gan River runs through this province from north to south, it is also called Gan for short.
Jiangxi Province, with its capital Nanchang is a well known province for its beautiful natural scenery. Nanchang is also the political, cultural and economical center of Jiangxi Province.
Jiangxi has a humid and warm climate. Winter and Spring are cold while the summer is hot and Autumn is dry. The average temperature of the province is 3-9C in January and 27-31C in July. The best time to visit Jiangxi is Spring and Autumn. During the time, beautiful mountains and lakes are attracted by most tourists.
Jiangxi is a good place for sightseeing and historical and cultural experience. There are many beautiful mountains, lakes and rivers, such as Poyang Lake, Mt. Lushan. The famous poet in Tang dynaty Li Bai wrote the well known poetry for the mountain and its waterfalls.
